Big moves this off season.
With pitchers and catchers reporting, Americas game is getting ready to start. There was a ton of big names moving this offseason. Starting off with the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees traded young catching prospect Jesus Montero to the hapless Mariners for power pitching Michael Pineda. Montero has a great bat, but we all know that pitching wins rings. This was a great deal for the Yankees. Getting a young power pitcher is not how New York normally gets its pitching. Maybe the days of paying to much for older pitchers is long gone. New York also signed free agent Hiroki Kuroda who pitched well for the Dodgers. Those two arms along with shipping that boat anchor A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh should sure up the rotation.
Our long time rivals the Boston Redsox lost Jonathan Paplebon to the Phillies, which is great news for us. The Redsox seem to be on a downward spiral and I couldn't be happier. New manager, aging players, and losing an elite closer spells trouble. The biggest acquisition this year was the Angels snagging Albert Pujols from the Cardinals. The best player in the last two decades and maybe ever is a huge addition for Anaheim or Los Angeles or whatever the hell they call themselves. With the Angels getting better and the Rangers already being good that brings us to the Mariners. As always they did nothing this off season. Yes they added a good young bat, but gave up good pitching for it. Now the M's are talking about moving Ichiro to the 3 spot and having Figgins lead off. What a joke. The guy batted like .240 last year and had the lowest on base percentage of any player with at least 300 at bats. Yes folks the M's want to put a guy who doesn't get on base to lead off!
Prince Fielder was another huge name who will be putting on a different jersey this year. He signed a huge contract with the Tigers, who now have one of the nastiest line ups in baseball. If they can get consistent pitching watch out. They may be world series contenders.

Cardinals win World Series in 7! In what I thought would be a less than stellar series. Boy was I wrong. One of the best I have ever seen. Coach La Rousa went out on top retiring from the Cardinals. With a bunch of big bats becoming free agents this should be a great offseason. More importantly the Yankees locked up CC!
Some are saying Game 6 of this years World Series is the best ever. I only had a chance to catch the end of the game. From the highlights and what I saw, they may be right. Coming back, down 2 runs in the 9th, the Cardinals tied it up. In the 10th the Rangers again go up 2 runs only to have the Cardinals score two themselves. Finally in the bottom of the 11th a long home run off the bat of David Freese sealed it for the Cardinals. This game was loaded with drama. Good pitching, bad pitching, errors, home runs and rallies. As much as this Yankee fan hates to say it, one of the most memorable World Series I can remember.
Someone needs to be on suicide watch for me. The Yankees are out of the playoffs. As much as it sucks, it doesn't surprise me. All year the pitching staff has been weak. And that super douche pay Roid, I mean Alex Rodriguez is a complete bum. Up twice in game 5 with the bases loaded and doesn't even put a good swing on the ball. He has to go down as one of the all time chokers. You dream of that type of moment from a little leaguer on up.
We better be loading up on pitching or 2012 may be an early exit as well. At least the Red Sox weren't in the playoffs! I hope they enjoyed it from their couches. And a fair well to Jorge. I'm guessing this will have been his last season. It's been a great run and he will defiantly go down as one the all time greats to wear pinstripes.

Thank you Granderson for saving our season. With one of the best playoff catches I have ever seen. Big game 5 tonight. We need the bats to come alive. The youngster takes the mound for the Yanks. With CC available if the wheels fall off. Its all hands on deck for the big game tonight.
Rivera breaks saves record with number 602 last night against the Twins! Love or hate the Yankees you have to respect this man! He is humble, works hard and has been a class act for baseball for a long time. The fact that he did it this year, the same year Derek Jeter eclipsed 3000 hits makes this a great year for baseball. And the Yankees. He will go down as the greatest closer in history and a first ballot Hall of Famer. 5 rings and all time saves leader equals best closer ever!
